Sgt John Eaglesham.
A part- time soldier as well as a postman, he was on his normal rounds near the village of Rock, Co Tyrone when he was attacked by the IRA from both sides of the road while he was driving his post van, although John was able to draw his pistol he wasn't able to return fire.

As well as being in the UDR John Eaglesham had been in the regular army as well as the TAVR.
