Northern
Ireland Campaign Medal
Silver and circular in shape. The obverse of the medal shows the crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse bears the image of an oak wreath surrounding the words ‘For Campaign Service’.
Awarded for 30 days accumulated service in Northern Ireland from 14
August 1969.

Campaign Service Medal
Instituted in 1994 for award to all who serve
36 months in operations where one or more clasp would have been awarded
to the Campaign Service Medal 1962. Service on other operations is also
allowed and is noted in each individual award. Further periods of three
years are marked by a silver bar.

Army
Long Service and Good Conduct Medal
The Services have recognised long service since the Army instituted its Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1830, with the Royal Navy instituting theirs the following year. Both were initially issued for 21 years service with exemplary conduct. Over the years the design of the medals and the qualifying criteria have altered, with 15 years now being the length of time required for consideration.

Golden Jubilee Medal
This medal was the largest of all of the commemorative issues with some 366,000 being distributed to members of the Armed and emergency services who had completed five years service at the time of the jubilee.
